Update log

What's new

Everything that changes in the game, patch after patch. Updates are also announced in #nouveautés on the Discord.

Art

10 hand-painted zones

10 hand-painted zones

From the Misty Forest to the Dragon's Lair, every zone now has a painted floor with details of its own: ice, lava cracks, flagstones, sand…

The title screen gets a new illustration too: a golden door in the heart of the forest.

Gameplay

The bosses speak up

The bosses speak up

Every guardian and every mini-boss delivers a line when it arrives, with a real voice in French, English, Spanish and German. The music ducks while it speaks, and the sentence appears on screen so you can read it.

The Black Knight awaits you at door 80… if you dare.

Balance

Talents: a cap that grows with you

Each specialization talent goes up to level 10 as long as you have not passed door 50. After that, you gain one more level every 7 doors of your record. Beyond level 10, each level counts half as much. The screen shows your current cap and the next step.

Monsters have been retuned accordingly, so the difficulty stays fair.

Art

19 music tracks and 39 new sound effects

Every place has its own orchestral music: the home screen, the camp, the 10 worlds, the mini-bosses, the guardians, the arena… with a crossfade from one scene to the next.

On the sound-effect side, everything was remade: the knight's sword, the samurai's katana, the bow, the mage's orb, the 12 spell schools, dodging, parrying, coins, victory and many more.

Gameplay

Every monster has its own spell

Every monster has its own spell

The 30 monsters, the 10 mini-bosses and the 10 guardians have been fully redrawn, with their walking, attack and fall animations.

Above all, each one now has its own spell: it is announced on the ground (a circle, a line or a cone that fills up), then cast with a matching effect. Poison, burn, slow, snare or pull: watch the ground and dodge at the right moment!

Interface

Clearer menus

  • Appearance: now purely cosmetic; the weapon and the class are chosen elsewhere.
  • Forge > Weapons: only your class's weapons, with the Power upgrade first.
  • Forge > Grimoire: the spell school tied to your specialization.
  • Forge > Workshop: the first tab is renamed, and the potion offered for watching a video moves to Alchemy.
  • The Specialization screen now fits entirely on the phone.

Interface

A new icon

Door Knight gets a new icon on your home screen: it will appear with the next version of the app.

Heroes

Redesigned heroes

Redesigned heroes

The knight, the archer, the mage and the samurai move to a brand-new illustrated style: inked outlines, expressive faces that blink and react to the action, snappier strikes with trails.

All your customization is kept: sex, skin tone, hair, headgear, armor, capes and weapons.

Door Knight gets a makeover!

Door Knight gets a makeover!

The biggest update since the start of the beta is on its way. Heroes, monsters, scenery, bosses, music, camp: almost everything has been redrawn or expanded.

Here is, item by item, everything waiting for you in the game 👇

Art

The 10 guardians have their portrait

The 10 guardians have their portrait

Every 10 doors, when the zone's guardian appears, its painted portrait shows under the banner with its name. From the Slime King to the Ancestral Dragon, each has its own illustration.

Heroes

Your gear shows on your hero

Your gear shows on your hero

The helmet, armor, boots and talisman you equip are now drawn on your hero. Their color follows the rarity, with ornaments that climb the ranks: a gem from rare, a glow from epic, gold trim and winged boots for legendary, sparkles for mythic.

New: the royal dye, to give a piece one of 12 colors, previewed live on your hero from the Wardrobe. It is free during the beta!

Gameplay

A more readable fight

A more readable fight
  • Wider view: about 19% more ground in every direction, to see the waves coming earlier.
  • Solid scenery: heroes and monsters go around trees, rocks, pillars and statues instead of walking through them.
  • Redesigned buttons: attack, whirlwind, guard, spell and potion laid out in an arc under your thumb, with a glowing ring for the cooldown.

Art

A more spectacular opening cinematic

A more spectacular opening cinematic

The opening cinematic has been remade: a runic door bursting into flames, a horde of real in-game monsters charging at you, an action shot for each of the four heroes, then all of them together before the corridor of doors. All on new music.

Interface

Every world has its banner

Every world has its banner

On the door map, every zone has its illustrated banner, and the world's emblem appears as a colored watermark behind each door number. When you enter a door, the zone's illustration shows behind its number.

Art

A brand-new camp

A brand-new camp

The camp gets a new face: 11 buildings that evolve in three stages with their level, 23 illustrated decorations and 4 grounds to choose from (meadow, autumn, snow or arcane).

The palisade grows with you, from wooden stakes to a crenellated stone wall, and the tower archers have been redrawn.

Interface

A cleaner title screen on iPhone

On some iPhones, the Door Knight title on the home screen showed up cut off or doubled. In the next patch it adapts to your screen size and always displays in full.

The whole home screen has also been moved up, so you reach the buttons faster with no empty space.

Art

Monsters that are easier to spot

Basic monsters are bigger and their shadow on the ground is stronger: they stand out much better, even on light floors like the Amber Desert. Their hitbox grows with them, so every hit lands on what you see.

Fix

Menus that finally respond as expected

The Forge's Grimoire tab could go blank and stop responding when you came back to it: fixed. Back arrows now take you where you came from: from the Wardrobe or the Grimoire opened from the Heroes menu you return to the Heroes menu, and from the Shop you return to the screen you left.
